Parker Hannifin Manufacturing Engineer, 1986-1991 Metal working and casting. Statistical process control. Simultaneous engineering for manufacturing and design. Manufacturing process drawings done with CAD (CADKEY). CNC programming for lathes, machining centers, and gear hob. Cost reduction team leader and award winner.
Georgia-Pacific Corporation 1981-1985
Team Leader for Purchased Software, System analysis and programming for paper mill maintenance applications. Specified and developed maintenance management system for Division's northeast mills. Programmed and maintained source code (BASIC) for VAX-VMS networked system.
Plant Engineer responsible for steam generation, facilities and equipment maintenance as well as project management for a 100 ton per day fine paper mill. Projects included $2,000,000 rebuild of the paper machine white water system for solids recovery and wastewater lagoon closure. Supervised a foreman and 10 union trades people.
Project Engineer responsible for general mill projects, fire protection, and computer files of equipment for high quality pulp and fine paper manufacturing. Projects included water supply pumps and piping, fourdrinier and press section vacuum pump installation, and maintenance data system development. Supervised 2 people in the fire protection maintenance team.
Moore Business Forms Mechanical Development Engineer, 1980 Invented and developed a system that measures the modulus of elasticity of paper during continuous web printing. This project required basic research, mechanical design, and system analysis. Also designed components for business machines such decollators and detachers.
Norton Company Manufacturing Engineer, 1976-1979 Process Engineer for low and high production of vitrified and organically bonded grinding wheels. Accomplishments included wastage reduction (eliminated stress cracking in small vitrified product, etc.), process improvements (microwave preheating of hot press products, etc.), and product development (organic ball wheel, etc.). Statistical process control and analysis. Developed a microwave heating process for the Wellyn Garden City, England factory.
